Summary
- Muse sends data only when you act: your messages, and — only if you choose — page text, screenshots you capture, images you add and voice recordings.
- That data goes to our server and our AI provider (OpenRouter, which routes requests to models such as OpenAI and Google) only to generate your answer. We do not store your conversations, page content, screenshots or recordings.
- Your chat history and settings are stored locally in your browser. You can delete them at any time.
- If you buy Muse Pro, payment is handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. We never see your card details.
- We don't sell data, don't show ads and don't use your data for anything other than running Muse.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy covers the Muse AI Assistant: Code & Chat Helper browser extension ("Muse") published by NextApps AI ("we", "us"). Contact: romanvlasovdev@gmail.com.

Muse never reads pages in the background. None of your messages, page content, screenshots, images or recordings are sent before you agree to this policy in the extension. If you open Muse Pro checkout before that, only the anonymous install ID and the plan you chose are sent, so the purchase can be linked to your browser.
3. Data stored only in your browser
Your chat history (text of your conversations and images Muse generated for you; images you upload are not saved), settings (theme, interface language, default model, preferences) and your anonymous install token are saved in your browser's local extension storage on your device. They are not synced to our servers. Use Settings → "Clear chat history" or "Delete all my data" to remove them, or uninstall the extension.
4. Service providers
- OpenRouter — routes your requests (text, page content, images, audio) to the AI model providers that generate answers and transcriptions, such as OpenAI and Google. Requests are processed under OpenRouter's and the model providers' API terms.
- Dodo Payments — our merchant of record. When you buy Muse Pro, Dodo Payments collects and processes your payment details, name, email and billing address under its own privacy policy, and sends receipts. We never see or store your card details.
- Resend — sends the one-time restore code to the email you enter in “Restore purchase”.
- Railway — hosts our server and database (anonymous install ID, hashed access token, request counters). Standard infrastructure logs (such as IP address and request time) may be kept for a short period for security and reliability.
Muse does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
5. Browser permissions
- sidePanel — shows the Muse interface in Chrome's side panel.
- storage — saves your settings and chat history locally.
- activeTab and scripting — read the current tab or start an area capture only when you click a Muse button, menu item or shortcut.
- contextMenus — adds the right-click actions.
- Access to websites (optional) — requested only when you first use "This page" or "Capture area" from the side panel, so Muse can read or capture the tab you ask about. You can revoke it in Chrome's extension settings at any time.
- Microphone — requested by Chrome only if you turn on voice input; used only while recording.
6. Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide Muse's user-facing features; it is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to determine creditworthiness, and not transferred to third parties except the service providers above as needed to provide the service, to comply with law, or with your consent.
7. Retention and deletion
Conversation content, page content, screenshots and recordings are processed in memory and discarded once the answer is returned. The anonymous install record and request counters are kept while you use Muse; "Delete all my data" in Settings deletes them from our server immediately. Billing records are kept while your subscription exists and afterwards as required by accounting and tax law. “Delete all my data” removes the link between this browser and your subscription but does not cancel the subscription.
8. Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. AI provider keys are kept only on our server and are never included in the extension. Your install token is stored on our server only as a hash. Payment keys are kept only on our server. Pro access is granted only after Dodo Payments confirms the payment to our server with a signed notification.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data and to object to processing. Because we store almost nothing about you, most requests can be handled with "Delete all my data". For anything else, write to romanvlasovdev@gmail.com. Our legal basis for processing is performance of the service you request and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
10. Children
Muse is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
